would you rather: beauty edition

Hi everyone,

Today I’m doing the ‘Would you rather tag’.

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I think I would have to keep my palettes and eyeshadows, but loose the others because they make your makeup look more ‘glam’ easier.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

I would have to cut all my hair off even though my hair is really long and I love it, but I can’t stand it when the ends are ruined and your hair in general looks straggly.

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Definitely a coral cheek.

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Makeup, because when I have some money to spend, Boots is always the first place I would go.
5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick because it would look better, you would have to have a very fine lipstick for your eyeliner to even look decent.
6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Mac for makeup, Sephora for bath and body supplies.

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
Probably lip colour, I really like the tutti fruiti lip butter from Revlon, so I’m sure I could just use that one.

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
This is a hard one, but I think I prefer winter clothes so yeah, winter clothes in summer.
9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Ooh, I would rather give up my favourite eye product I think.
11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I personally would rather a messy bun but my hair doesn’t do that so a ponytail.

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Never use lipgloss. I wouldn’t be able to not paint my nails.
13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Hard. Urmm, shave them off, hahah.
14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Live without nail polish I think.

autumn favourites

hello everyone,

we are right in the middle of autumn at the moment, and i think its probably my favourite season.

this isnt a typical favourties post, its the things i like most about autumn/fall, kind of general things, not specific beauty or fashion picks. all of the photos i have used in this are from weheartit.

first, it has to be autumnal fashion, i love wearing oversized tops and jumpers, with comfy leggins and not feeling underdressed. i also love big coats with furry hoods, and fuzzy socks. you can where layers and be comfy but still keep it looking really casual and styled. i also really like wearing my long sleeved denim jacket as a sort of coat, with some leggins and boots. i also really want some black matte doc martens, but they are quite pricey so im not sure if i will be able to.

my next favourite thing is messy buns, to be honest this isnt really that specific to autumn but i think i wear my hair most like this in the colder months because with the wind, its harder to wear it down. im think of doing a step-by-step tutorial of a perfect messy bun, so that should be up soon. but yeah here is one i found that i really liked (i also really like her eyebrows).

okay so next up i have pumpkins, i know pumpkin carving is related to halloween, but the scent of pumkins is associated with the whole season. i love the scent so much, i have a candle that is pumkin latte, and its my favourite candle, i have used it so much and its nearly out, but hopefully i can purchase another one. also i have a pumkin scented room spray from glade which i also really like and it smells so amazing. i think the smell is so homely and just reminds me of the autumn and running through leaf piles, haha, bit random.

this autumn i have done quite a lot of makeup looks inspired by cara, i have really liked her makeup from recent shoots, and i have tried to get them as close to hers as possible. i wouldnt say i fangirl over cara, but i do think she is amazingly pretty and i really do love her. if any of you dont know who she is, you should definitely have a look, her full name is cara delevingne and she is a model.

hot chocolate, or warm drinks are my favourites this time of the year, i feel like in the autumn/winter, there is nothing better than a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows to warm you up, i have recently purchased ginger bread syrup to make in lattes, and it so nice, ahh i love it. 

the last thing is, now its getting colder and darker outside, its just another excuse to stay in bed with a duvet and a film all day. i really do love these days, and i plan them in every once in a while, as just a day to relax and restore any energy that is worn out. i usually save a few films to watch and i just catch up on anything i need too. 

yeahh, i may suffer from clinomania just a little bit, especially on monday mornings and if i had that view.

intro #2 (oops)

Hi everyone.

After endless reading of teen beauty blogs, and adding new reads to my Blog lovin' feed, I have finally decided to give having a blog a whirl. I thought a small introduction would be good just so readers could know a little about me and what this blog is going to be. So after plucking up the courage to create a google account, I was stuck on the second blank, your blog URL. After 30 minutes, I still wasn't settled. But, I went for 'i is for inspired', i think its mainly because i am inspired by a lot of things so i thought it was quite appropriate. Now onto the topic, subject kind of thing of my blog, as in the URL its beauty, but its also fashion and lifestyle. For the past year my obsession of make-up and beauty has increased, I watch Youtube videos constantly, read so many blogs, and spend hours just in Boots and Superdrug on endless shopping trips. I think the majority of posts will be beauty and make-up related, but I'm interested in fashion and fitness so that will be involved and just day-to-day bits and bobs. I'm going to really try with my photography, because I think that adds to the blog so much and when I'm happy with the appearance I'm sure I will be happy with it all. I have wanted a blog to express my love for makeup and its always been a dream, so now I'm on the road to making it real.

I really want blogging to work for me and for it to be a place I can write about my life and knowledge of the things I love. This post wasn't much but I have a few more already planned and I hope your interested in what my little place on the internet has to hold. i really hope that maybe it could inspire other people to start a blog or become interested in make-up and beauty.

hair product build-up

hi everyone,

recently, i have found that even after a good wash with my favourite tresemme shampoo, my hair still doesnt seem to be fully cleaned and there still some product left in at the roots. so i did a bit of research (watching missglamorazzis favorites video, and notice how she said once a week she uses a really strong shampoo to get rid of all build-up) and decided i needed to find a good shampoo that would get rid of all of the left over product still in my hair. i have previously purchased shampoos just from boots, but still dont feel they do a good enough job so i headed over to lush and looked into their shampoos. they have a lot of different types, normal liquids, bars, soaps and cream/gel. but i think the one thats best suitable is the i love juicy shampoo.

the criteria for this shampoo is 'for hair that needs a jolly good wash', so that i thought it was very appropriate, i also liked how it was sold in different size bottle. i really like that when trying a new product because you dont have to splash out on a product you dont know whether you will like. the 100g version is only £5.25, and i think that will be best to start out with and if i really like then i could get a bigger size when it runs out, although i dont think i will be using it too often so it should last quite long. after reading some of the reviews, i also thought i would look into a deep conditioner because it can apparently be quite drying, and my hair is quite thin so it will most probably happen to me. i havent found one i like just yet but im still on the look out. 

while i was on the lush website i came across another hair product called 'big', althought it is a shampoo, i dont have know how cleaning it will be but i was really intriguid by it so that might of been added to my basket aswell. 

it basically is a sea salt shampoo so it adds volume much like how a salt spray does, i use my spray alot and since i have really flat hair hopefully it would help to add a bit of volume.

Inspiration: Aurora and Erica Mohn

Hi everyone,

It's not a beauty related post, but it's about Aurora and Erica Mohn. They both inspired me to start a blog, so I thought maybe making a post about them will inspire others in the same way. 

They are both from Trondheim, Norway. Many people think they are sisters because they look so alike but they are actually cousins! They are both 16,but Aurora is the youngest out of them.

Aurora and Erica both have blogs, they are in Norwegian but they are automatically translate on some devices. Aurora's Blog and Erica's Blog.

For quite a while I have been aware of Aurora and Erica, from photos off weheartit, a well known photo from that site, quotes 

 ‘boys? Bitch please, I’m going to marry my best friend!

Since I saw this photo I always said how pretty they were and the photo looked really nice, but wasn’t aware they were actually known, hard to explain in words, but yeah! Then I found a post a bucket list site on tumblr, they had in it ‘meet aurora and erica’, I then found out who these girls where and from the on I was inspired by them. On Aurora’s blog she adds beauty, life and clothes/fashion posts! 

 

Aurora has a tumblr , aswell as her actual tumblr account there are alot of dedicated/fan blogs for her that are also really good, but obviously they are not her so they cant answer all her personal questions. She followed me a few months back, which I was really happy about and had a fangirling session! Even if you don’t have tumblr you can still have a look at her blog and read answered questions, and look at some exclusive pictures! She also has a new one that she uses more reguarly, runawayrora.tumblr.com but it's a bit less personal.

 

Last month, Aurora went to California on a language travel trip for 4 weeks. She has put 2 posts already on questions and answers from her trip and I think she is doing atleast one more. 

All of Aurora and Erica’s post are really detailed so anything you see in these pictures that you would like to purchase, will be stated in their blog! 
Alot Aurora’s clothes are from an online shop called ‘BikBok’, I have had a look at this website a few times and liked it alot! The only problem is they only deliver to Norway and Sweden, which is really unfortunate for me living here in England, I have heard that they are spreading their delivery service to more areas of the world, so I hope the UK is one of the lucky countries, haha:)
Recently, I haven’t seen many new photos of Aurora and Erica together, except when they went to Oslo last weekend! But, still I like all of there posts, even if they are individual. 

Basically I can’t explain how much they have inspired me, if you don’t really know who they are or haven’t looked at their blogs you need to, please? Oh yeah they both have YouTube too, Aurora’s channel is called Aurora Mohn Steudahl and Ericas is HeiHeihall0. All of their videos are really good and my absolute favourite is their bedroom tours, ‘Rommet Mitt'.

Erica also does cheer, I'm not 100% but I think she is in a senior 3 team. 

Aurora gets over 60,000 views a day on her blog, because of this she gets money from ads which means she gets paid to do her blog, which she did before with out getting paid! Lucky her!!!
Alot of people say she has the perfect life, Aurora is so pretty, has a famous and amazing blog, (and makes money from it),she does dance, and her family are looks so perfect! I agree, obviously some parts of her life aren’t perfect but you can’t get much closer to it!

halloween party and look

hi everyone, 

as most of you will know it was halloween on thursday, where i live halloween isnt very celebrated, we have some trick or treaters and a few parties but not as much as the US celebrates it. on friday night, we had a dinner party, it was mainly my parents but me and my sisters had a few friends as well. it was really fun and i thought this post is slightly beauty related if it was about the makeup i wore for this look. 

im the one on the left below, i dressed up as a creepy/scary doll, to be honest i something to do with the eyes to make them look more doll-like but it didnt really go very well so i didnt do that in the end. first i used a really high-coverage foundation to make my face look as flawless as possible, because obviously dolls dont have an blemishes or spots. for the lips, i used a bright pink lipstick with a gloss over the top, to make it look like a creepy doll, i used a felt-tip liner out the sides of my mouth and added stitches. for the eyes, i used a lot of white eyeliner on my water line to make my eyes look bigger and rounder. for the hair, i scraped my hair back into two pony-tails, to give a cute dolly look. 

for the outfit choice, i went for black so it made it look more scary, so i wore a black crop top, that has slightly lighter lines on (you cant really see them because of the lighting, but oh well), and i paired it with my black skater skirt. to finish of the look i wore some mint socks with a frill, from topshop to make it look more doll-like.

About me & my blog

Hello,

Okay, so this is my proper intoduction. A bit about what this blog is, the name and where I'm going with it. I have started one blog before, but I didn't turn out great and I kind of stopped using it. And I thought I'm just going to start a new because it's easier.

Just a quick bit about me, my names lydia, I'm 14, I'm British and yeah, I'm trying to find a TAG to do about me, but I haven't found one I like just yet.

I set up this blog with four things to use as a subject and kind-of theme. First of all it's fashion and beauty they are the main two and I will probably write about those the most, including hauls, tags, tutorials and OOTD's. I am also going to include lifestyle posts, maybe including a few vlogs and just that sort of thing. The last thing I'm not to sure how it's going to turn out, but I might include fitness related posts. At the moment I am training for 10K next summer, and I am improving my flexibility, by stretching and yoga, so I could incorporate those type of posts because I think that could be quite fun.

The URL is 'I is for inspired', I don't know if it's going to be permanent but I just think that I' personally am inspired by many things, for example aurora mohns blog inspired me to start a blog, bows to toes stretching on instagram inspired me to become more flexibile and there are more situations so I thought it was quite appropriate.

I don't have plans for this blog, I'm just going to post when I can, about what I feel like writing. I just want it to be something I enjoy doing and hopefully people enjoy reading.

halloween tag

hello, 

this is my new blog, i have a big introduction with stuff about what its going to be like, and things about me but until thats going to go up i have this. since its halloween today, i have a little tag to do, i wasnt specifically tagged by anyone but i thought im just going to do it because its festive and fun. so, yeah lets get started... 

1. favourite halloween movie

to be honest, i havent watched any specifically halloween themed films so i dont know 

2. what age did you stop trick-or-treating?

i havent actually ever been trick-or-treating, i was planning to go this year, but i havent ended up going so maybe next year, haha

3. favourite halloween costume you have ever been?
um, i have only dressed up as a cat, a witch when i was little, and a lady bird but i dont really have a favourite

4. what are you going to be this year?

im having a halloween party tomorrow, and im dressing up as a creepy/scary doll, hopefully it will turn out good but im not sure really, i will probably post some photos at the weekend.

5. Do you like haunted attractions?

before this year i would have said no, but my sister had a spare ticket to go to the hayride thats in my town so i went along. i was so scared, because there were live actors but it was really fun and i think im going to go next year, so yes, i guess i would say i do like haunted attractions.

6. Vampires or werewolves?

vampires!

7. favourite halloween candy?]

its not specifc for halloween but maoam pinballs, especially the bright pink ones

8. Do you decorate your house?

on the inside yes, but not the outside haha 

9. least favourite halloween costume?

i dont really have something in particular i dont like, but i like when people have unique or creative costumes, or celebrity themed, anything else im not a big fan of

10. Have you ever repeated a costume and what was it?

i have actually dressed up as a ladybird twice, one was for halloween but the other was jjust a dress-up party, so im not sure if that counts, but i wore a black top, red tutu, i have wings, a wand and antennas on a head band

11. Do you believe in ghosts?

noo, i dont and i dont think i ever will unless i actually see one myself

12. Scariest Halloween?

probably this year, because of the hayride and we are having a party, most years my family doesnt celebrate it so i dont have many halloween memories.

13. favourite halloween decoration? 

carved pumpkins, i really enjoy doing it and they look so cute and you can be really creative with them.

14. did you have any other costume ideas this year?

i really wanted to dress up as miley cyrus, i wanted to do my hair in space buns (from the VMA performance), and do my makeup look inpsired from the wrecking ball music video with strong red lips, and wear white but i dont have any white bottoms (shorts or leggins or anything), and i couldnt find any from friends, and i didnt really want to spend money on it, so i thought i would go as something i already had the stuff for

15. how do you want to celebrate halloween next year?

i would really like to have a big party with my friends, i think that would be really fun and go trick-or-treating and i know im too old to go but i would probably go with my little sister and her friends and a few of mine too haha
